SUMMARY
Managed the product development of PeopleTV, a celebrity AVOD streaming service from People and Entertainment Weekly. Instituted growth and advertising initiatives that resulted in 4MM+ minutes watched per week and 300k+ app installs across web, mobile and connected TV devices.
MONETIZATION
I focused on advertising initiatives to ensure the AVOD service could generate revenue on every device:
Implemented Nielsen DAR and the Roku Advertising Framework to better monetize our biggest audience
Implemented Nielsen DCR to allow sales to attract TV dollars otherwise closed off to OTT companies
Launched a new PeopleTV.com with a consolidated CMS of BrightCove and Brightspot libraries to open up advertising opportunities
GROWTH
To help the business and marketing teams grow scale, I pursued a number of distribution intiatives:
Launched and managed PeopleTV on partners like Amazon Channels, PlutoTV, Xumo, Comcast and Roku TV
Developed feeds for connected TV-wide search such as MRSS feeds for Roku and building IMDB profiles for PeopleTV series to appear on Fire TV
Spearheaded the rebranding of People Entertainment Network to the more-recognizable PeopleTV
THE RESULT
Focusing on scale of distribution across devices and rebranding certainly paid off for PeopleTV - the service racked up a whopping 500,000 streams per week, 4,000,000+ minutes watched per week and 300,000+ installs a year after its launch.
