OUT IN TECH

In Fall 2019 and Fall 2020, I had the honor of being selected to be a Mentor for Out in Tech U, an org that connects LGBTQ+ folks at the start of their careers to professional opportunities and skills in Tech.

In Fall 2019, I drew the lucky straw of getting paired up with mentee Ayannah Salaam, a rockstar Aerospace and Defense Contracts Negotiator with a vision for a personal-styling fashion app. Over the course of the program, I led Ayannah through an 8 week series on product validation and app development.

In Fall 2020, I was paired up virtually with ultra-talented Brown University student and aspiring VC Ivan Zhao. He wanted to learn about the process of bringing a product from concept to execution. Over the course of the 8 weeks, Ivan and I walked through the Product Discovery, Definition, Delivery and Launch process, as well as PM skills like market analysis, identifying unique value props, building a roadmap and stakeholder management.

Despite the global pandemic, Ivan and I were able to meet virtually on a weekly basis to discuss his career aspirations and next steps!

HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGN

In 2017, I served as Silent Auction Co-Chair on the HRC NY Gala Committee to help raise donations for the largest civil rights organization in the nation working to achieve LGBTQ+ equality.

After months of corporate outreach, my amazing Co-Chair E and I secured more auction donors than in the history of the NYC gala, raising $126,000 of the team’s whopping $1 million that night. What an unforgettable experience!
